Colt’s Pedigree and Breeding

Hip 404’s sire, Independence Hall, is a son of Constitution out of the Cape Town mare Kalahari Cat. During his racing career, Independence Hall achieved five wins, including victories in the Grade 3 Nashua Stakes at Aqueduct, where he set a new stakes record with a 12 1/4-length triumph, and the Grade 2 Fayette Stakes at Keeneland, which he won by 7 1/4 lengths. He also secured placings in the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational and the Grade 2 Californian Stakes, amassing total earnings of $881,500.

The dam, Orecchiette, is a stakes-placed daughter of Harlan’s Holiday and an OBS graduate with earnings of 180,072 with a record of 14/4/3/2. She was purchased by Davey Wilkett of DMW Racing Stables at the 2024 November Breeding Stock Sale.  Her performance on the track adds depth to Hip 404’s pedigree, suggesting a strong genetic potential for racing success.OBS Sales+1WinStar Farm+1
